Fix Typos on the Touchscreen MacBook Pro
Apple's first touchscreen Mac runs macOS 27 on M5 Pro and M5 Max. Typoly works there too: select your text, press one key, typos fixed.

Apple just unveiled its first Mac with a touchscreen, the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display. Your fingers scroll, zoom and move windows around the screen. Typing still happens on a keyboard, though, and typos still come with it. Typoly works on the new MacBook Pro all the same: select what you wrote, press a single key, and spelling and grammar are fixed right where the text sits, in any app.

macOS turns touches into clicks, Apple says, which is why plenty of existing Mac apps respond to touch on day one, no update needed.
Does Typoly run on the touchscreen MacBook Pro?
Yes. What Typoly needs is an Apple Silicon Mac with macOS 13 or later. The new MacBook Pro carries an M5 Pro or an M5 Max and ships with macOS 27, so it clears both requirements. Typoly is already running on macOS 27 today.
Touch doesn't change the way Typoly behaves. The app sits in the menu bar and starts from a key you pick: fn or globe, Right Option, Right Command, or one of the function keys F6 to F9, on a single press or a double tap. The keyboard isn't going anywhere on the new MacBook Pro, so your Typoly key is still where it has always been.
Fix a typo using touch and one key
- Type wherever you like. Messages, Mail, Slack, Notes, a browser, or the prompt box of an AI assistant.
- Pick what needs fixing. Highlight a sentence with the trackpad or from the keyboard, or use your finger in the apps that accept touch selection. Select nothing and Typoly corrects the entire text field.
- Hit your Typoly key. The corrected text takes the place of the original, exactly where you typed it.
You never copy anything, switch windows, or paste into an editor.
Why a single key fits a touch Mac
Touch shortens the trip to anything on screen: scroll a conversation, tap a field, tap Send. The words themselves still come off the keyboard, and the typos come with them. Typoly keeps the fix on the keyboard as well, so you never have to leave the sentence you are writing.
Typoly fixes mistakes. It does not rewrite anything. Your words, your tone and your style stay yours. Only the spelling, the grammar and the typos ever change.
What I will test on the device
The new MacBook Pro only reaches customers on November 6, so I haven't had one in hand yet. When it lands, I will put Typoly through its paces on it, text selected by touch included, and update this page with the results. If anything behaves differently, you will read about it right here.
No subscription to go with a new Mac
Typoly runs on prepaid credits. There's no subscription, no license per Mac, and the credits never expire. A single account covers every Mac you own, so an older Mac and the new MacBook Pro spend the same credits. The current offer comes with $2 in free credit to try it.
Questions
Does Typoly come in a separate touch version?
No. Typoly begins with a key on the keyboard, and the keyboard is still part of the new MacBook Pro. The very same app runs on every Apple Silicon Mac.
Does Typoly still run on older Macs?
Yes, any Apple Silicon Mac with macOS 13 Ventura or newer. Intel-based Macs aren't supported.
Which apps can you use it in?
Typoly works anywhere you type from day to day, whether that means Messages and Mail, Slack, Notes, a browser or an AI assistant.
